5-Day Galápagos: Santa Cruz & Isabela
The shortest island-hopping trip that still reaches two inhabited islands without spending itself in transit. You sleep in hotels, cross between islands by public speedboat, and take day boats out to the sites — which for Los Túneles and Las Tintoreras is the only way anyone reaches them.

- Day 1
Arrival, highlands and Charles Darwin Station
Biosecurity at Baltra, the park fee desk, the Itabaca Channel crossing and the road across Santa Cruz — budget two hours before you are anywhere. Then the highlands, where giant tortoises are wild and unfenced, and the Charles Darwin Station in Puerto Ayora.

Full-day navigable tour
A full day by boat to one of the uninhabited visitor sites — which one depends on the National Park’s route allocation for the day, and no operator controls that. Snorkelling, a guided landing, and the kind of wildlife density people come here for.

Speedboat to Isabela — Las Tintoreras
Two hours across open water to Puerto Villamil. Afternoon at Las Tintoreras: a short boat ride, a walk over the lava, and a snorkel where reef sharks lie stacked in the channels below you.

- Day 4
Los Túneles
The best day of most people’s trip. A boat south along the coast to a maze of collapsed lava arches in shallow, clear water — sea turtles, seahorses, white-tipped sharks, blue-footed boobies nesting on the rock above you.

- Day 5
Back to Baltra
Early speedboat to Santa Cruz and the transfer across the island to the airport. This day is travel; do not plan anything else into it.
